8 Reasons to Love Luštica Bay

Luštica Bay combines a stunning natural setting and balmy climate with architectural authenticity and world-class facilities. What’s more, it’s part of a little country with a big heart, the beautiful and beguiling Montenegro. There’s certainly a lot to fall in love with.

It’s been difficult to whittle our list down to just eight reasons. Really, these are only the beginning

1. Montenegro

Hailed as one of Lonely Planet’s top destinations in 2016, Montenegro has a little (or a lot) of everything: a fascinating history, a rich culture, an astonishingly varied landscape and a sophisticated luxury offering.

With a population of 640,000, it is a small country and yet there is so much to see – 293 km of coastline, 117 beaches, five national parks, numerous historic towns, and charming villages. The world-famous town of Kotor is just twenty minutes’ drive away from Luštica Bay. Its landscape ranges from high peaks to coastal magnificence including the fjord-like drama of Boka Bay. Although still fairly undiscovered, the country attracts nature lovers searching for wild nature and show-stopping scenery over the bustle of cities.

Lord Byron, one of the greatest British poets, once wrote:

‘At the moment of the creation of our planet, the most beautiful merging of land and sea occurred at the Montenegrin seaside’

This simple, poetic sentence says it all. You haven’t lived until you’ve seen the beauty and drama of Montenegro’s black mountains tumbling down into turquoise Adriatic waters.

2. Climate

In summer, temperatures hover around 27 °C (80°F) and, even in winter, the average temperature remains around 7°C (45°F). For six months of the year you can expect upwards of a balmy 20°C (68°F). That’s hours and hours of sunshine year round meaning you can make the most of all this spectacular country has to offer.

Luštica Bay was made for outdoor living with unending sea views,a diverse landscape preserved in all its splendour and outdoor terraces and promenades and gathering spaces. There’s nowhere better to soak up the country’s 240 days of sunshine a year.

4. Architectural Star Quality

Every detail of our resort, from the smartest hotel to the most bijou apartment, has been lovingly designed in homage to Montenegro's historic architecture with, of course, a state-of-the-art twist of our own. We’ve partnered with designers from all over the world to create unique interiors, inviting public spaces and viewpoints that make the most of our heart-stopping vistas.

Walking through the Marina Village, you’ll feel as if it has been there forever. The building have been built with local stone, clay and wood. They showcase regional details: sunwashed red tile roofs, brightly coloured shutters and traditional plaster facades. There are no high-rise buildings to distract, instead, what’s here has been carefully placed within the landscape, designed to become a part of the nature in which it sits.

5. You’ll Never Want to Leave!

Luštica Bay is just 15 minutes away from the closest airport (Tivat, 10 km) and only a short ride away from the airports in Podgorica (90 km) and Dubrovnik (46 km). What’s more, it is surrounded by so many must-see places just 20 minutes from the famous coastal cities of Kotor, Tivat and Budva and a short hope to Dubrovnik and many other Adriatic treasures.

When at Luštica Bay you might feel worlds away from everything but its location couldn’t be more perfect for sightseeing with the whole country and Adriatic coastline at your fingertips. Plan a road trip, cycle or hike through one of the national parks, ski and swim on the same day. Although no one will blame you if you want to do nothing more than relax at your Luštica Bay balcony, sipping on a glass of wine and losing yourself to the sea views.
