What is a Thalasso Spa?

Thalassotherapy harnesses the natural healing powers of the sea. It uses the secrets of the deep to tone muscles, improve circulation and soothe and nourish skin. Thalassotherapy, derived from Greek means ‘sea therapy’. Any Thalasso spa must be within 300m of the sea and use fresh sea water for its treatments

The idea of the Thalasso is that you have an underwater massage and workout. The rich minerals from the sea water in combination with the water pressure work out stimulates circulation and improves muscle tone. The wellness treatments and cures use sea water, algae and mud (don’t worry they are cleaned and purified first!). The proteins, vitamins and minerals from the sea are absorbed into the body for healing.

There are two main types of Thalassotherapy. Hydrotherapy uses mineral showers, seawater pools and water massage. Algotherapy uses seaweed, mud and algae as wraps or for baths.
